Warhammer 40k Long Las inspired Nerf Longstrike

Insanely hot day today, but I was busy cleaning up the shop and finishing up a few things (guns mebbe?). Wanted to share a few pictures, but they'll get the final photos as soon as the decals arrive.

First gun is a modified Nerf Longstrike. I added the barrels to the front for a buddy who needed a Long Las style gun for his WH group. I'm hoping he'll be happy with how it comes out. The decals are in bright gold so they should look really cool withthe dark background. This was a really fun gun to build, so I may just have to do more body mods in the future...maybe on a Vera gun..hmm. :)







This next photo is one you'll think you've seen before, but this is a twin of the red N7 Stampede I posted not too long ago. I did change up the weathering a bit, to make it unique hopefully. Just needs those dang decals. Hurry up USPS!

Recon/Longstrike Hybrid project is coming along!

Hey everyone, I didn't have a lot of time this weekend for snapping photos, but those will be here very soon. I'm currently waiting on the decals for a few guns and just waiting for the other few things to dry out completely.

I'm going to be adding another tab to the site soon, it will have some pretty cool resin replicas that people have asked about. Some of these include Master Chief's Pisol from HALO, Han Solo's Blaster, Mal's Revolver from Firefly, and about 50+ additional models that I'll add as I see a need. The kit's are made by ArsenalModels.com and you can request a PDF catalog by emailing Ed at arsenalmodels@aol.com. Let him know you heard about their site here, I'd appreciate it :) Once you have the list, let me know what you need and we'll get them ordered!

Here's Nerf Recon body that I used in addition to a Longstrike front barrel (shortened the barrel a bit) and a Raider stock. The scope was not available for the quick photo op, unfortunately. This photo shows the gun as it sits now, it's just needing the detailing and weathering and it's all done. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I'm sure I'll think of something. Let me know if you can use it or something similar.

The small gun in the photo is a Sharpshot and it was just there because the colorschemes were the same! :)

New Lanard X8 projects starting – Mass Effect Stampedes almost done!

Hey Folks! Spent a good part of the day getting things packed up and almost finished up the Stampedes and Long Las rifle. It was still humid as all hell, but I got a lot done inside where it was still pretty dry. It will get better and the month moves along, which will be a great thing for paint drying! I did another one of these Otter Boxes for a photographer friend on DeviantArt.com. I did it for almost cost, mainly because they'll be able to tell me how well the finish puts up with daily use. I hope it does well so I can offer some other colors.


Recently I did a little Buck Rogers-styled squirt gun for my Dad. For my Brother I decided to do something along the same lines, but this time around I went with a tiny cap gun revolver. I guess I just think the little guns are cool to display without taking up much room. I'm sure they appreciate that aspect of the gifts :)

Stampede Akimbo action! These are almost done, just waiting for the PO to deliver the custom decals.


The first one of these Lanard X8s that I did got a lot of attention, probably due to the rarity of the gun. These are tough to find in stores, especially in states that don't have the chains where they're sold. You can find them online, but they're usually marked up 2-300% (retail is about 9-10.00). This is also the same for the Lanard X6. Here's some WIP photos showing the removal of the rear hammer guard. It takes a bit of patience to get them shaved off without a lot of rough edges, but if you take your time it can come out looking pretty cool.

Before and after - next comes the filler for those huge holes!


Sanded and then filled in the recess where "Made in China" was stamped. I also filled the mold dimples. After all this is sanded and made stock looking I will take the guns apart to paint the trigger, barrel, and also the cocking mechanism under the handle. That should be tomorrow if the filler has dried completely.

Projects Update 7-28-11

A Smattering of stuff from the past week. Sorry a lot of them are phone photos, folks, but I don't bring out the heavy photo weapons when it's 120% humidity :)

There a lot of things in the works, so I promise there will be some neat-o things to see soon. Until then, thank you all so much for the support and commission requests. I am truly honored to have such great people around me.
